Environment & Energy Working Group
ASBC’s Environment & Energy Working Group supports ASBC’s policy work at the federal and state level. It provides strategic support for current and emerging energy/environmental campaigns and issues of importance to businesses. The working group (WG) makes the business case for clean energy policies and solutions. It helps to develop advocacy and educational strategies for addressing climate change, reducing fossil fuel subsidies, challenging the need for fracking, increasing support for clean energy programs and promoting energy efficiency. The WG is actively mobilizing businesses to support a national price on carbon as well as working in a number of states on similar initiatives.
Members of the WG are asked to write op-eds, serve as spokespersons to the media, testify on Capitol Hill and in state capitals, partner on joint campaigns and support research projects.
The Environment & Energy Working Group holds a bi-monthly conference call to surface ideas, issues and strategies for promoting a low carbon economy.
To become involved, please contact Richard Eidlin, Vice President of Policy and Campaigns.
