Integrative Healthcare Policy Consortium
The mission of the Integrative Healthcare Policy Consortium (IHPC) is to direct the national healthcare agenda toward a health-oriented, integrated system, ensuring all people access to the full range of safe and regulated conventional, complementary, and alternative healthcare professionals, therapies and products, and to the building blocks of health, including clean air and water as well as a healthy food supply.
Integrative Health Care (IHC) describes a coordinated system in which healthcare professionals are educated about one another's work and collaborate with one another, and with their patients, to achieve optimal well-being for the patient. IHC is a matter of both smart policy and equity—for healthcare consumers and professionals. IHPC believes that integrated health care has a critical role to play in addressing the two main issues of the current US healthcare crisis—cost and quality.
IHPC is a broad coalition of clinicians, patients, healthcare educators, and organizations committed to public policy that ensures all Americans access to safe, high quality, health care including the full range of qualified conventional, complementary, and alternative healthcare professionals.
