ASBC Lists 2016 Budget Priorities
In March, ASBC Action Fund sent a letter to the Congressional Progressive Caucus detailing our budgetary priorities as they prepare their Fiscal Year 2016 budget proposal. In the letter, VP and Co-founder Richard Eidlin stressed the positive impact a tax system that puts small businesses on a more level playing field with larger corporations could have. Offering tax credits for businesses paying a living wage, making health care costs fully deductible for self-employed workers, and encouraging further establishment of employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) were a few of the suggestions offered that would advance the goal of worker ownership in the broader economy. Through equitable taxation and targeted federal spending, ASBC Action Fund believes Congress has the opportunity to build a more sustainable economy for future generations.
