Business Leaders Concerned about Price for HHS Secretary:
“We cannot afford to roll back the economic benefits the Affordable Care Act has provided to businesses"
WASHINGTON, DC (November 29, 2016)—The American Sustainable Business Council (ASBC), which with its member organizations represents more than 250,000 businesses, expressed concern about Congressman Tom Price’s nomination as Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). The following statement may be attributed to David Levine, CEO of ASBC:
“Congressman Tom Price’s nomination as Secretary of HHS is troubling. We cannot afford to roll back the economic benefits the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has provided to businesses. Instead, responsible companies want to see improvements and reforms that strengthen the ACA so that consumers and businesses can continue to benefit from the law’s many essential provisions—including reduced costs throughout the health-care system. We are very concerned that Rep. Price’s rhetoric opposing the law is not backed up by sufficient plans to replace the current system.”
The American Sustainable Business Council advocates for policy change and informs business owners and the public about the need and opportunities for building a vibrant, sustainable economy.
