Small Business Leader Challenges NFIB Heath Care Claims

For Immediate Release:
March 27, 2012

WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Frank Knapp, Vice Chair of the American Sustainable Business Council Action Fund (ASBC), released the following statement as the U.S. Supreme Court hears oral arguments on the Affordable Care Act (ACA):

“Now more than ever it is important to remind everyone that the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) does not speak for all small businesses regarding the Affordable Care Act. Hundreds of thousands of small businesses, including NFIB members, are already benefiting from the Act's health insurance tax credits, saving them thousands of dollars a year. For these small business owners and many more, on this issue the NFIB is really the NSMB -- Not Speaking For My Business."

"Making health insurance more affordable and accessible is the goal of the ACA and even though it has not been fully implemented, we at the American Sustainable Business Council can see that this healthcare reform is on the right track."

The American Sustainable Business Council is a growing coalition of business networks representing over 100,000 companies and 200,000 business leaders. ASBC advocates for public policies that meet the realities of the 21st century global economy.
