Water Quality Working Group
ASBC's Water Quality Working Group brings the business voice to bear in supporting federal and state policies relating to clean water protection. It provides backing for campaigns and strategies aimed at reducing agricultural effluent run off, making greater use of green storm water infrastructure and endorsing EPA’s Clean Water Rule (WOTUS). The working group supports ASBC’s overall ‘Clean Water is Good for Business’ campaign.
The working group pursues a number of initiatives, including; developing op-eds, supporting legislation, presenting testimony and holding meetings on Capitol Hill and with allied state business organizations to impact the debate and ultimately secure clean water protections across the country. The working group also meets with elected officials, regulators, and public-opinion makers.
ASBC's Water Quality Working Group meets every two months and periodically organizes seminars and other programs. Clean water is crucial for businesses to thrive, and the working group helps ensure this fact is understood both at the state and national level.
